Homer Ocean Charters offers guided day trips for beginning and experienced sea kayakers.  Trips begin with a water taxi ride across scenic Kachemak Bay to the protected waters of the fjords in Kachemak Bay State Park.  Your guide will provide an orientation and whatever assistance you need all day long.  You'll spend the day paddling in spectacular scenery with abundant wildlife viewing opportunities.  Enjoy a shore lunch that is provided with the trip.  We use single and double Necky kayaks that are very stable for beginners and also provide the experienced paddler with a fun boat.  At the end of your day you will be transported via water taxi back to Homer.   Multiple day options are also available.  A liability waiver will be required of all paddlers.

The price for this adventure is $140pp with discounts available for large groups.

Alaska's Kenai Fjords, including Kenai Fjords National park and Kachemak Bay State Wilderness Park, boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in Alaska. The Fjords have hundreds of miles of unspoiled coastline, mountains, glaciers, and abundant wildlife. While still having a mild coastal climate, the area has the advantage of being dryer than S.E. Alaska or Prince William Sound. We choose to operate in a portion of the Fjords that is many miles by boat from either Homer or Seward, meaning we avoid the day trip traffic and provide you with more of a wilderness experience.

Our tours begin Homer. There are 10 flights a day a from Anchorage to Homer. All of our multiple day tours include a first and last night in a local hotel. Your first day, depending on your arrival time, can be spent exploring the Homer area which is an attraction all by itself. There is a no-host dinner that evening to meet some of our staff and talk about the trip. After a good night's sleep, you will be shuttled to our air taxi where you will board a floatplane for a spectacular flight over Kachemak Bay, the Harding Ice Field, and into the Kenai Fjords.

Our tours are operated from remote base camps which offer several advantages. We can provide a more comfortable camp while maintaining a wilderness setting. You can bring less gear and spend less time making and breaking camp. You will have more time enjoying what you came to do, paddling and relaxing. Our cook can spend more time preparing gourmet meals, and we can even provide meeting space for small company groups making this the ultimate business outing.

Anyone who is reasonably fit and in good health can participate on our trips. No previous paddling experience is needed to take part in these tours. With a small guide to guest ratio, you will receive personal instructions to suit your particular skill level and needs. Because everyone has unique interests and desires, we strategically place our camps where they offer a multitude of paddling opportunities. The 18-20 hours of daylight provide ample time to paddle, hike, relax, or even do some fishing. While these tours are great for beginners, more advanced kayakers will find plenty to keep their interest, the Kenai Fjords are Alaska Kayaking at it's best!

While our location is as scenic as any in the world, our equipment top notch, and the food excellent, what we are most proud of is our staff. Our guides are personable and knowledgeable. They love the area and what they are doing, and they strive to fulfill each individual's expectations. Most importantly, they put your safety first.

Your return to Homer will again be via an incredible flight seeing trip, offering you a different view of the area you just experienced. Once in Homer you'll have time for an optional half day fishing trip, shopping, or exploring Homer's great museum and art galleries. You can check back into your hotel room to shower and rest up for your departure the following day.

TOUR PACKAGES The following tour packages include first and last night accommodations, flight seeing to and from base camps, kayaks, paddles, life jackets, professional guides, tents, camping gear, and all camp meals. Not included is air fare to Homer, town meals, fishing license, alcohol, and gratuities.

• 5 night tour package includes 4 days/4 nights on the water 7 $895 ppdo. Tours begin in Homer on Saturdays ... June 1 through early August
• 6 night tour package includes 5 days/4 nights on the water 7 $1095 ppdo. Tours begin in Homer on Tuesdays ... June 3 through early August

To sign up for a tour package simply call us toll free. We require a 50% deposit to reserve space with full payment due 30 days before departure.

CANCELLATION POLICY

• More than 60 days before departure: full refund less 50%.
• Twenty one to sixty days before departure: full refund less deposit.
• Zero to twenty days before departure: sorry, no refund.

  The refund rates are based on the date we receive your written cancellation. If we find, or you provide us with a replacement, the penalties will not apply. Upon receipt of your deposit, we will send confirmation along with a release of liability form that must be signed and returned with final payment. We accept cash, checks, VISA and MasterCard.
