Thai Fishing Guide News

This page is devoted to a roundup of the news
from Phuket and Chalong pier.

Week No. 9

Well, sorry guys! After several attempts of finding somebody
with just a moderate work burden, and therefore able to find the time
for this wright-up on regular basis, we have come to the conclusion
that these people do not exist in Phuket!!!

Another rare species this past season has been
the normally very well presented Phuket Sailfish.

The Phuket International Sportfishing Classic in November
ended with the poorest billfish result in its 12 years of existence.
Overall winner was MV "Regent" which had an impressive second day,
landing Sailfish as well as a 31,8 kg. Giant Trevally, caught on a jig.

Like any season, there has also been a number of "Golden Days".

One of these were in the start of November, when "Reel Hooker",
"Catch 22" and "Wahoo 1"
all fished the area around the Similan Islands.
"Reel Hooker"
landed two Black Marlin, while "Catch 22"
was enjoying a long battle with a 330 lb Marlin on 30 lb equipment,
and "Wahoo 1" anglers managed to land two Sailfish,
Yellowfin Tuna and a Dorado on fly.

Other positive things have surely been night Shark fishing and
popper casting for Giant Trevally, both things responsible
for sending anglers back with sore arms, backs and hips!

When it comes to freshwater fishing,
you might have noticed our new destination - Kanchanaburi.

This paradise is the perfect place for adventurous anglers,
looking for undisturbed privacy in beautiful surroundings with lots of fish.

Fishing here is done from luxury houseboats of western standard,
insuring a comfortable and unforgettable fishing adventure.

Keep your eyes on our "Photo Gallery" for updates on this destination.

-----------------

Talking updates, we are proud to welcome a new "Top Class" boat
in Phuket's fishing fleet, by the name "Choke Dee".
This Australian build 41 foot Randell is a multi purpose boat,
completely equipped for fishing as well as diving and cruising,
and is therefore the perfect choice for people wanting to combine
all these things in one unforgettable trip!

Have a closer look here: MV "Choke Dee".

A new selection of popper lures and jigs have also been added to the site,
along with Shimano Tiagra Line, and a few fishing accessories.

Have a look in our "Shopping" section,
and like always, keep an eye on the site.

Tight Lines and Fair Weather.
