Global gaming leader Peter George is senior vice president for development and managing director of Caesars Entertainment, Inc.’s international group. With more than 25 years of experience in the international gaming and hotel industries, George is responsible for uniting all Park Place development activities and overseeing international operations.

George’s principal responsibilities include the development of international relationships and evaluation of new business opportunities both inside and outside the United States.  He presides over the day-to-day operations of seven resorts in Australia, Canada, South Africa and South America.

George joined the company following a distinguished career with Hilton Group PLC, (formerly Ladbroke Group PLC), based in London, England.  From 1994 until his retirement from the company in 2000, he served as vice-chairman and chief executive officer, overseeing its extensive gaming, hotel and leisure activities involving 60,000 employees in 50 countries worldwide.  As CEO, George was responsible for negotiating and implementing the highly successful strategic alliance between Hilton Group PLC and Hilton Hotels Corporation of the United States.  He also initiated the development of the  e-commerce strategy for Hilton Group’s Ladbroke gaming division, which earned it a leading place in the industry.

George was appointed to the main board of Hilton Group PLC in 1980, when he was chairman of the gaming division.  The division was responsible for developing and managing multiple gaming activities in eight countries.  In 1991, George was appointed joint managing director of  Hilton Group with operating responsibility for the gaming, hotel and retail divisions.

A graduate from the City of London Freeman’s School, George serves on the board of directors for Hilton Hotels Corporation, US Airways Group and Magna Entertainment Corporation.
