Stazione Termini, Ala Mazzoniana,

Sir Denis Mahon is the curator, with Vittorio Sgarbi and Massimo Pullini, of the beautiful exhibition opened at the Ala Mazzoniana, into the Stazione Termini of Rome. This event comes from the Palazzo Reale in Milan, where the Italian painter Guercino has had an exceptional success and that is very different from the artistic critic of 1930; in fact, the critics of art were very sceptical towards the paintings of Guercino, new, however, this artist is loved for her artistic qualities and for her versatility. There are two moments of the artistic life of Guercino: the first step is her studies in Bologna, near the Caracci's school with a painting links to the orthodoxy rules of the Counter-Reformation; the second phase(1621-1623) is a moment links to: the magnificence and the traditions of Rome, the baroque court of the Pope in which Guercino changes the colours of her works.

The curator of this complex event is Fernando Checa Cremades, who wants to tell the history of Rome of Innocenzo X and Alessandro VII, the life of the courts of Filippo IV, Carlo II and Luigi XIV, with Italian masterpieces and also importants works from foreign. The fitting out includes about 170 works: paintings, models of terracotta, etchings, engravings, equestrians portraits, tapestries, medals and preliminary studies that give account of the ups and downs of the European collections and of the tastes and love for the arts of the popes and kings; in fact, the collections of these men of power are fundamental, not only to understand the history of art, but also to reconstruct the historical events of which, we have, sometimes, only the visuals documents. In this exhibition there are excellents masterpieces of indisputable value like: the big canvas of Luca Giordano from Spain, the "Portrait of the Infanta Margherita" of Velazquez, the works of Maratta, Baciccio, padre Pozzo, Juan Carreno de Miranda, and one section is dedicated to Gian Lorenzo Bernini, in particular to her late paintings more spiritual and religious.

"NICOLA DE MARIA NANNI BALESTRINI ELISABETTA BENASSI PASCALE MARTHINE TAYOU"
MACRO, Via Reggio Emilia 54, Roma

Danilo Eccher is the curator of the new exhibitions dedicated to: Nicola De Maria, Nanni Balestrini, Elisabetta Benassi and Pascale Marthine Tayou. This event is very important because is the first time that the Italy dedicates an one-man show to the Italian Nicola De Maria. He was born in Benevento but always works in Torino and he doesn't like the fame, so De Maria has chosen to stand aloof, compared to her friends of the Transavanguardia, founded by the critic Achille Bonito Oliva, about 1980. These works of De Maria are divided in two moments: the big paintings, that are the new murals for this "roman event" and the small works, that are the famous oils on canvas, with the flowers, the abstract shapes, the material and the "nocturnes". In the Galleria Vetrata there is Nanni Balestrini, an other important artist of Italian culture, who always works with the language and images; in the Sale Panorama it is possible to admire the researches on the technology of the young roman Elisabetta Benassi and the remarks of Pascale Marthine Tayou about the religion and the tradition.
