Challenge: Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI), the owner of six motorsports race tracks and racing entities around the country, needed a company that could build a site that would consolidate design, hosting, and professional services. SMI needed a company that could provide complete online functionality.
Approach: RMG3 used its proprietary content management system, 1Touch™, to create a multipurpose template that all SMI properties could utilize in a cost effective way. Each track could use the template and customize it with its own colors, photos, logos, and content offerings without having to use time or finances to create a totally new design for each track. Although the tracks use the template site, each site has a feel of its own. 1Touch™ also allows for the tracks to share content and data with each other on the back end and allows each track to update its own information with a user-friendly interface. Individual tracks can update articles, track and event information, as well as put up new promotions when needed. Advertisements can also be posted and tracked by track staff through RMG3’s use of Real Media Open AdStream.
Result: Through seamless integration, RMG3 created sites that are not only cost effective, but also met all of SMI’s goals: professional, fan-friendly, easily navigable, and content rich. Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Infineon Raceway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Lowe’s Motor Speedway all chose to use the template. Since the new sites launched, traffic has increased 40% across SMI’s properties, hosting costs have gone down tremendously, utilizing RMG3’s hosting facilities and services, and fans track staffs are happier with the sites.
