We got underway at 5:00 going to my second most favorite bouy on this day of 10-20 mph se winds. We got one mahi on our first pass then we got 2 small aku and ran them both live. It was only a minute or so before the big bully swallowed one of the aku and was hooked up, Winnie was the angler and it gave her a great fight, at the same time we hooked 3 more and a shark. We got one more good pass and got 4 on that pass, it was some wild action. On our way in we had a stripper hit a lure but not stay on. In the harbor Winnie was the brave one to swallow an eyeball from a mahi, alright. These folks were real troopers. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:00 start on this day of 10-20 mph trades going to my favorite buoy. We took a double mahi and got them both on our first pass. Then we caught some bait and then went up and out along a current line and got 3 more mahi along the line. We also found 2 glass balls among all of the plastic balls in this line. On our way in we got a spearfish, then a stripped marlin hooked up and we got him too. Back in the harbor only Jason was bold enought to eat an eyeball out of a mahi. These guys did real good. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 10-20 mph trades going to another buoy. We took a stripper hit early in the morning but it came off. Then we got a small mahi at a buoy, then went out side and found some porpoise and followed them but took no hits. On our way back to the inside we got a spearfish hit and it stayed on, Cris reeled it in fast. then we found a floating peice of an airplane wing and got 2 out 3 mahi on bait , a shark got one of them and there were porpoise in the area so they never did bite again. No hits on the way in. In the harbor both guys ate mahi eyeballs eagerly, these were some serious fishermen, they brought lures and poles and were really ready to fish. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of light winds going to my favorite buoy. We took a double shibi on our first pass and got them both. then we jigged and got some small aku and shibi and ran them live , before long a big mahi came up and inhaled a small shibi and was hooked, Paul got to reel that one in. Then we got a few more bigger shibi on the light line then set up and trolled on outside. We found an open school of mahi and got one  and lost one. Then we took a spearfish hit in the blind and got that one too. No hits on the way in. In the harbor both guys ate shibi eyeballs gladly . These guys did great. Aloha Capt Rusty

It took untill now but I finally got my christmas present to myself today. It was well worth the wait, she has all the bells and whistles one could ask for. It's a 2004 F-250 XLT super cab with fx4 four wheel drive and an 8 foot bed. This will make the drive to town so much more enjoyable. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  A red footed albatross took a break on the bow rail one day
This bird stayed there long enough for me to get my camera out and take a few shots of him. This was the first time that this had ever happened to us. In the past we had a homing pigeon land on the boat and we took it home and let it go , only to find out that it had been let go on the big island. We have even seen owls flying around in a flock of shearwaters. You never know what we may find out there. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Here is Scot and his pet puffer fish, occaisionally a part of the post game show
I thought I would use this space to show some shots that don't usually get to be here, like Scot and his spiney friend. I am in the process of ordering all the parts we will need to get our drydock done. The big surf did not come today as forcast, but the big wind yesterday was wild, with gusts in places up to 64 mph. It was a good day to be out of the water. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 7:00 on this day of 20 mph sw winds going to a buoy.  We got our stripper on the way out, and Dan got to reel it in. At the buoy we took a mahi hit on the rigger and Eric reeled it in. Then we jigged and got 2 live aku and ran them, then we baited but only small aku and shibi came up. We trolled around for awhile then headed in. In the harbor both Eric and Peter ate eyeballs from the stripper, good going. This will be our last trip untill after our yearly drydock, I will be posting  our progress. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Ron Anderson, Duffy Sciacca caught 16 shibi 1 mahi and 2 ono and some aku and a shark
We got going at 5:00 on this day of light se winds going to a buoy. Near the buoy we found a 55 gal drum floating and took a triple 2 small onos and a 16 pound mahi and got them all. At the buoy we  started baiting and got some small shibi before the bigger ones came around. We had a few good passes, then on one we got three on one pass. Then a shark came around and it ate one of  our live baits, while it was on the shibi were up and eating, we got 2 that pass. Back in the harbor there were no eyeballs consumed. These guys did great reeling these fish in. We also saw about 5 different groups of whales today, it's whale season. Aloha Capt Rusty
