Earning Miles on Airline Flights

Follow these four easy steps to earn miles when you fly on Northwest Airlines^®, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and our other airline partners:

1. Provide your WorldPerks^® account number when making your travel reservations. Please ensure that your WorldPerks membership card contains your full name as it appears on your passport or photo identification, and always provide the exact name and WorldPerks number shown on your card.
2. Present your WorldPerks card when you check in at the airport on your travel day to ensure you receive mileage credit.
3. After your travel, the correct number of miles will be credited automatically to your account based on the nonstop mileage between your origin and destination, as shown on your ticket. If your trip includes a connecting flight with a change of flight number, you will receive mileage credit for each flight segment.
4. Save your tickets and boarding passes until the correct mileage is reflected on your Mileage Summary statement. Northwest flight mileage is normally credited to your account within two weeks after your travel date. For mileage credit on KLM or other WorldPerks airline partners, please allow six to eight weeks. When your itinerary includes travel on a partner airline, you can only earn miles in one frequent flyer program. Please specify that you want the trip to apply to your WorldPerks account before you board the first flight.

Program Terms and Conditions

• You earn WorldPerks miles based on the nonstop mileage between the origination and destination shown on your ticket, unless your trip includes a connecting flight with a change of flight number; in this case, you will receive mileage credit for each flight segment.
• All travel on Northwest-published fares qualifies for mileage credit, with the exception of travel on these fare types: WorldPerks free/discounted award travel, CATY international, VUSA standby, infant, unpublished, free, no value, agency/industry discount tickets and any other fares that are, from time to time, declared by Northwest to be ineligible for mileage accumulation.
• If you are routed on another carrier due to operational situations that occur at the airport on your day of travel, you may earn mileage credit for your original Northwest, KLM or Continental itinerary as ticketed by completing a Mileage Credit Request Form (available from a Northwest agent). Mileage credit will not be awarded for flight cancellations due to any condition the airline cannot control, including but not limited to weather delays.
• Northwest is the final authority on qualification for mileage credit and reserves the right to cancel miles at any time if miles or subsequent travel awards are credited or used in violation of the rules and guidelines in this Member's Guide.
• Membership numbers are non-transferable, and retroactive credit will not be given for flights taken prior to enrollment.
• You must actually travel to earn WorldPerks flight mileage. Miles will not be awarded on unused, forfeited, fraudulent, or refunded tickets, or on additional tickets purchased on the same flight under the same name for any reason.
• You are the only person who can earn mileage on your WorldPerks account, even if you purchase tickets for other people. Miles will not be awarded when a person checks in and improperly identifies himself/herself as the member. Any fraudulent activity in connection with the program will entitle Northwest, at its discretion, to terminate an individual membership or Elite membership status, void all mileage credit, and cancel previously issued tickets, awards and certificates.
• Pooling of mileage is not permitted.
• When you travel on a partner airline, you can only earn mileage in one frequent flyer program for each trip.
• Please specify that you want the miles applied to your WorldPerks account before you board the first flight segment.
• Miles earned on Northwest or Northwest Airlink flights will be credited to your account within three days of your flight. For all other airline partners, please allow six to eight weeks.
