Safety - Gas

You should call Transco if you suspect a gas leak. They are responsible for dealing with gas leaks and can be called out free of charge. Their 24 hour emergency number is 0800 111 999. If you suspect a gas leak;

• Don’t smoke or strike matches
• Don’t switch on or off electrical switches
• Open doors and windows
• Turn off the gas supply at the meter
• Put out naked flames

Increasingly in the news there are reports of bogus callers claiming to be representatives from gas or electrical companies. Remain vigilant at all time and remember that genuine sales representatives will be able to show you their ID.
