WOW! I checked it out, sounds like good stuff. Can I assume by WBG's post that 30# would be the dia. of 12# mono? Does anyone know of any B&T; that may have it? Cabela's has it but the shipping expenses make it tough. They go by $value. Two small boxes of line $13 to ship.

Yes, 30# Fireline is 12# (5.4kg) diameter.
And Fireline and Fireline XDS are micro-dyneema thermal filament.

BTW- no need to fill the entire spool- as I'm sure you know- just leave enough room after backing with mono for 150-200 yards of Fireline. Wait till you see how far you can cast!

If you believe the "mono equivalent diameter" that Pure Fishing puts on their Fireline (and Stealth) labels, I've got a bridge for sale.
I'd like to see the 12# test mono that they use to equate with 30# Fireline, considering my Penn 706 gets filled by a 300 yard spool of 30 FL with just enough mono to cover the arbor.
300yds/20# Fireline just about fills a 704, too.
The reality is that 30# FL=20# Big Game and 20# FL=15# BG.

Fireline is much more than just a thinner dia. Stronger, limp,no stretch...feels soooo good.Like said before, use cheaper mono backing as a filler!

Dicks sporting goods has lots of Fireline in stock and it was on sale last time I checked. Be advised that Fireline breaks at a lot more than its rated strength. If you think you need 30#, buy 20# instead.
