DID YOU KNOW? Interesting facts about the Canal. Details
The Lancaster Canal winds from Kendal to Preston, where the Millennium Ribble Link now joins us to the Inland Waterway Network. Passing close to the Silverdale coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and through quiet rural stretches of North Lancashire, our waterway is a haven for wildlife and relaxation.

For those looking for local colour and excitement, we’ve developed an action packed events programme and the cities of Lancaster and Preston provide a wide range of attractions all year round.

The bustling towns of Garstang, Carnforth and Kendal retain their traditional markets, and make shopping trips a great day out.
With over a thousand boats on our canal, it proves that not only is the Lancaster Canal the most beautiful on the network, but that’s it’s a thriving, interesting place to visit, and you’ll find a very friendly welcome!
