spacer TransCanada Stranded Gas Application Received
June 2, 2004 (Juneau) - The State of Alaska has received a Stranded Gas Development Act application from TransCanada to begin negotiations on fiscal and other terms related to construction of a natural gas pipeline from the North Slope. The application has been expected since mid-April, when TransCanada and the state entered into a memorandum of understanding under which the company said it would apply, and in exchange, the state would resume processing of a state right-of-way lease for the project. International Exports Show Phenomenal Growth
May 28, 2004 (Juneau) - In the first three months of 2004, sales of Alaska products to the rest of the world grew by 23% or $147 million more than the same period last year. This is "phenomenal growth," according to Governor Frank H. Murkowski, and "well above the excellent year-end results of 2003, when exports climbed 9% over 2002 figures to finish the year at $2.7 billion." More News >

DOR, Investment Bankers Meet on Gas Pipleline
May 25, 2004 (Juneau) - Throughout last week the Department of Revenue held opening discussions with investment banking firms regarding the Alaska gas pipeline project. The gas pipeline will lend further economic stability and growth to the Alaskan economy. More News >
