The Division of Sport Fish's mission is to protect and improve Alaska's recreational and personal use fisheries. This includes stock assessment, management, hatchery production, access development and maintenance, habitat assessment and permitting, information and education, enforcement and planning and survey activities.

 

Commercial Fisheries

The Division of Commercial Fisheries is responsible for management of the state's commercial, subsistence, and personal use fisheries. The mission of the divsion is to manage, protect, rehabilitate, enhance, and develop fisheries and aquatic plant resources in the interest of the economy and general well-being of the state, consistent with the sustained yield principle and subject to allocations established through public regulatory processes.

The Division of Wildlife Conservation is repsonsible for Alaska's wildlife and habitats. The division facilitates the regulation process and provides research, management, information, and education to enhance and conserve wildlife populations and provide a wide range of public uses and benefits.

The Subsistence Division provides research information to facilitate managment and regulation for customary and traditional use of wild resources for communities and cultures of Alaskans.

Administrative Services

The Division of Administrative Services is responsible for managment and administration of department budgets, procurement services, personnel and human services, and fish and game harvest permits and licenses.
