2004 KENAI RIVER FESTIVAL

June 12 & 13, 2004

Kenai, AK • Green Strip

Live Music • Salmon Parade • Great Food •Children's Activities • Artisan Booths • Run for the River 5K • Live Raptors

We invite you to join the festivities of the 14th annual Kenai River Festival being held in Kenai on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13, 2004. The festival begins with a parade led by our colorful, 29 foot salmon, who remains with us for the entire two-day event. Throughout the event, families can listen to great, outdoor live music. There are lots of activities for children and adults, arts and crafts, food booths and opportunities for learning about the wonderful river which sustains us. The FREE activities include puppet shows, face painting, making salmon hats, wooden fish model painting, bird feeder construction and much more!

The purpose of this event is to celebrate the Kenai River and provide an opportunity for the community to learn more about stewardship. 2003's event was bigger and better than ever and we estimate that between 3,000 and 4,000 people attended the festival. There is no entrance fee to the event. The entire festival is supported by local businesses, families and individual financial contributions.

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES

We believe one of the best ways to ensure a healthy watershed for years to come is to teach our children how and why to protect the environment. We use the Kenai River Festival as a way to reach these children and the festival is centered around many activities geared just for the kids. Last year activities included making salmon hats, pathways to fishing, wooden fish model painting, puppet shows, and much more. We expect these and several other activities to be with us for the 2004 event. Activities will be listed here upon confirmation. Check back with us for all the events of the 2004 Kenai River Festival.

ARTISAN BOOTHS

A popular element of the Kenai River Festival is the Artisan booths. Artists from around the state join us for the event to display and sell their art. We encourage you to stop by and enjoy the local art with us.

If you are an Artisan from Alaska and would like to join us as a vendor, you may download a booth registration form here. Upon receipt, fill out the form and follow the return directions on the form. If you would like more info, please call Josselyn at 907-260-5449.
