Share Charters
A share rate is based on the total number of anglers. The total number of anglers split the
charter rate. Organizing a share is difficult.
If you want a guaranteed fishing trip, consider an exclusive charter booked as willing to share.
If we get a share inquiry, we will notify you and you can work out the arrangements
with them. Otherwise, you cover the charter fee.
Deposit
We require a 20% deposit to book a charter and lock in a date. Minimum cancellation
notification is 1 week prior to the scheduled charter.
The deposit is fully refundable if the charter is canceled by the captain due to inclement
weather.
The Day's Catch
The charter rates, cover our operating costs which include fuel, ice and bait. It also
helps pay our fixed costs such as boat maintenance, fishing gear, lures, slip fees...
We operate on a very slim, break-even margin. We make our profit from selling the fish.
In Hawaii, most charter boats keep all the day's catch. We sell the fish commercially.
This is how we keep our rates comparably lower than mainland rates, which are about double.
We expect to catch enough fish to compensate for the lower rates.
You can understand why the captain and crew are very interested your charter catches as
much fish as possible. The Kuuloa Kai has a full day charter success rate exceeding 95%.
Captain Rusty has a great many satisfied repeat customers who recommend their friends go
fishing on the Kuuloa Kai II.
We will always give you enough fish to take home.
Gratuity
Captain Rusty and Scot will work hard and give your their all out effort. They will do
their best to see that you have a great day fishing. If you appreciate all they have
done for you, a gratuity to the crew will be appreciated.
A Note To Our Valued Customers
Communication is vital to the success of your big game fishing charter.

Two things you need to do:
1. When you arrive on the island, give us a contact phone number, where you can be reached.
2. Contact us the afternoon to early evening before a scheduled charter. (4:00 to 8:00 PM -
We go to bed early)
We start preparing the boat for your charter the prior evening. The morning of your charter,
we start getting the boat ready at 3:00 AM. It would be nice to know if you will be showing up. If you don't
call, we won't prepare the boat since this involves perishables.
We constantly track the weather. It is crucial to keep informed of the forecasted conditions
and other possible changes that can come up. Call us the day before to make sure the ocean conditions
are favorable and we are all set to go.
We need to set a starting time so we know when to expect you at the dock. In addition,
I need to be sure no bananas are smuggled aboard.
We want to show you the best Hawaii deep sea fishing has to offer. A little communication
goes a long ways to making things run well.
