Chamber Departments
The Charlotte Chamber is divided into seven "groups" with specific goals in order to better serve your membership needs. These groups focus on specific objectives, and committee involvement is available in each.
Business Growth Group
- Recruit new businesses to Charlotte while retaining and expanding existing businesses through the Economic Development Council
- Build a better manufacturing environment through the Manufacturers' Council
- Promote, educate and form strategic alliances for Charlotte's exporting community through the Global Trade Council
- Work with local government to improve Charlotte's business regulatory environment

Business Advocacy Group
- Engage Chamber members in setting Charlotte's business agenda through the work of the Public Policy division
- Lobby for the implementation of that agenda to local government and the state legislature
- Provide geographic distribution for the Chamber's products, services and agenda through the work of the Area Councils

Community Development Group
- Promote effective, innovative approaches to inner city revitalization such as the strategic plan for Wilkinson Boulevard
- Continue to impact the business community's approach to diversity through the Diversity Business Council
- Cultivate the inclusion of minorities in the business community through the Minority Business Leadership Institute

Education Group
- Advocate for business community support and involvement in all levels of education through CMS Partners for School Reform and the Workforce continuum
- Provide new and native Charlotteans, alike, the opporunity to plug into all aspects of Charlotte through the Chamber's Leadership School
- Promote the application and awareness of information technology in the Charlotte region, recognize technology developments, and support technology in education initiatives such as IT clubs for CMS and local colleges through the Information Technologies Council (ITC)
- Recruit more workers to Charlotte via a full-time workforce recruitment officer and raise awareness on workforce retention issues

Member Services Group
- Promote Charlotte and the Chamber to local, statewide and national audiences and constituencies
- Support www.charlottechamber.com as the business website in Charlotte
- Produce eight major publications and compile research that provides information for the Charlotte business community, living community, and individuals nationwide
- Orchestrate the Chamber's Annual Meeting and Excellence in Management Award
- Conduct two sessions of leadership school
- Provide small- and medium-sized business owners with networking, educational and leadership opportunities that improve their professional skills and businesses through the work of the Small Business Council

Organizational Development Group
- Provide internal financial guidance, quality control, and special benefits to members, volunteers and associates
- Provide all necessary technology resources for the Chamber and ensure the accuracy and accessibility of all the data and information maintained
- Update and maintain entire membership dues and renewals

Sales and Marketing Group
- Recruit new members and improve the benefits of existing Chamber members, Economic Development Council members and Board of Advisor members
- Provide the Charlotte business community with marketing opportunities through advertising venues and sponsorship exposure
- Conduct a Total Revenue Campaign with a goal of $2.5 million and the participation of 400 business community leaders
