Trends Show: 3 out of 4 Hires to Come from Internet and Referrals
Gerry Crispin and Mark Mehler, principals of CareerXroads, today released their annual Source of Hire survey results. In a presentation at the Newspaper Advertising Association's Marketing Conference, CareerXroads revealed trends and 2003 statistics from some of the nation's largest corporations. Some of the top findings:
- 60% of all External Hires in 2003 can be attributed to two 'Channels'- Employee Referrals & the Internet and these sources are continuing to grow. By 2005 these sources are expected to account for 3 out of every 4 hires.
- Is it a "source" or a "destination"? Of the hires from the Internet - employers report 67.9% came from the Company Website.
- " Niche job sites were a larger source of hires from the Internet in 2003 than leading job boards combined:
