In order to meet the increasing need for free quality debt advice, Community Money Advice was set up to encourage churches to consider providing budgeting and debt advice to their local community as well as supporting and resourcing churches already actively involved.

For the first time ever, people in this nation are borrowing more than they are saving with as many as 20% of the adult population struggling to meet their repayments. Currently, the need for debt advice far outstrips supply, often with people having to wait weeks or even months to see qualified money advisers.

Community Money Advice (CMA) has already been actively involved in helping churches across the nation to set up "drop in" centres offering free, impartial and quality debt advice to anyone that needs it. CMA is committed to continuing to work with these centres through membership that provides networking opportunities and access to resources and information, an annual conference and bespoke insurance.

CMA has also produced a range of resources for those looking to get started in debt advice and it can provide training and consultancy at every stage.
