Tours can be arranged for internationally known White Island (Whakairi), NZ's active volcano, 30 mile off shore from Whakatane. Bookings essential, as tours are dependent on weather. However, Whakatane is known as the Sunshine Town.
Fishing, tramping, swimming, bird watching, or taking it easy on the farm. Be as busy or as quiet as you like.
We are "young oldies" with wide interests. Jim has been a Lion for 25 years and is a keen bowler. Kathleen's interests are in genealogy, collecting books, craft work and organic gardening. We both have travelled extensively overseas and believe that New Zealand is the best place in the world to live.

We have 50/50 share milkers on our two dairy farms. We grow citrus fruit and breed black and coloured and spotted sheep. Jim built the Red Barn, Crafts and Country Kitchen, adjacent to our property. From here we promote and sell the work of 270 Bay of Plenty craftspeople. Our staff produce quality food baked on the premises, but dining with us at the homestead is our pleasure.
Our proximity to Whakatane (7kms) means you can also sample food from the quality restaurants and cafes in town, or we can pack you a lunch for a day at Ohope Beach.
