Dine in restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets - seafood, Italian, traditional French cuisine etc. There's a traditional French market on Tuesdays and Fridays. In the local area the forest-backed beaches are probably the biggest attraction. They are clean, safe, easily accessible and they're not overcrowded. There's at least 7km of uninterrupted golden sand. The sea is great for swimming as well as surfing and windsurfing. There's walking, cycling, birdwatching, horseriding, fishing and a host of other attractions, including La Rochelle and the sensational Puy du Fou.

This traditional village cottage offers 2 double rooms, lounge, dining room (with sofa bed), kitchen (with all the modern appliances, including cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer), shower room - with plenty of hot water! - and garage, housing the washing machine and ideal for storing any bikes. There's also a peaceful terrace garden, where you can dine al fresco and relax with a nice glass of wine. There's even a washing line, so you can dry your towels etc. when you come back from the beach!
