DNR - Commercial Recreation Registration Back to Top

Per regulation 11 AAC 96.018 and 11 AAC 96.250, the Dept. of Natural Resources will require that any commercial recreation business providing services on state land register prior to commencement of operation each calendar year. Registration must be completed at least 30 days in advance of expected use.

This means that all Sport Fish Charter businesses that use state uplands, shorelands, tidelands, and fresh water bodies must register with DNR at least 30 days prior to expected use.

At this time, charter businesses that operate exclusively in saltwater, without taking clients ashore on state owned tidelands or uplands, are not required to register.

More detailed information can be found on the fact sheet (PDF).
