SPORT FISH GUIDE, BUSINESS, LOGBOOK, CHARTER REQUIREMENTS
Guide Requirements for saltwater and freshwater operations
Guides must register annually with the Alaska Department of Fish & Game before guide services are rendered.
Registration forms are available on line or can be picked up at Alaska Fish & Game offices. A department representative will sign and date the form and the guide can carry the pink copy of form on their person until the wallet-sized card is received in the mail. Note, the 3-part form is not valid until a department representative signs the form. The guide must carry the wallet-sized guide card issued by ADF&G; on their person while guiding.
Renewal forms are mailed the first part of January to those guides who were registered in the previous year. If you have not received your renewal form by Febuary contact the Anchorage ADF&G; office at (907) 267-2369.
Assistants, deckhands, and similar persons who work directly under the supervision of and on the same vessel as a fishing guide are exempt from the guide registration requirements.
