Barracuda

Giant Pike.
Great Barracuda.
Identification:
Upper body blue-gray with dark bars.
Lower body silver with scattered dark blotches.
Wide 'V' shaped tail.
Pointed head.
Flat and big razor-sharp teeth, the longest teeth under the
nose.
Temperature range:
13 - 30 Celsius (55 - 86 Fahrenheit).
Typical location:
Around and in openings between reefs.
Over isolated peaks.
Juveniles on shallow flats.
Fishing methods:
Trolling natural baits (Mullet, Mackerel) or strip bait with or without
plastic skirt.
Trolling lures and minnows.
Deep trolling lures and minnows.
Casting lures, poppers or minnows.
Drifting or at anchor with natural bait and chum.
Fly casting.
Fighting characteristics:
Powerful first run followed by shorter runs near the surface.
High flying jumper in shallow water.
