Community Guidelines
Welcome to the Live365.com Community. Music is the universal language. Like no other form of expression, music speaks to everyone. From Techno to Classical, Jazz to Rock and Celtic to African Rhythms there is something for every musical taste. The Live365 Community with its broad range of musical and non-musical interests offers opportunities to interact like no other place on the Internet.

Even though we all come from different backgrounds and interests, the Live365.com Community provides a place to exchange ideas, points of view, share insights and generally talk about our favorite topics. Our Live365 Community Hosts are there to give you a hand if you need one. They will be glad to answer any questions you might have.

There are certain things that make an online community a fun and friendly place to be. You already know what they are, but we'll just restate them here so that everyone knows what is expected of the members of our community.

  • Because our community is so diverse, everyone should be treated with mutual respect. Expressions of hatred, bigotry, racism or profanity will not be tolerated.

  • You are responsible and liable for your conduct when participating in our message boards and chats. The entire community should be a friendly, supportive place to spend your time.

  • Remember, this is a public place. Everything you do here, whether it is chatting, posting in the message boards, or leaving messages for broadcasters and their audience, is done in public and could be publicized or quoted by anyone who sees it.

  • Please don't be disruptive. Keep your comments on topic whether in chat or on the boards. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Be yourself. Don't try and mislead or cause harm to other members by claiming to be what you are not or impersonating a Live365.com employee.

  • Remember that you cannot post materials that are not your own. Copyright laws prohibit the posting of copyrighted materials without the expressed permission of the copyright holder. This means you cannot post any newspaper articles, photos or similar materials without permission. Stating a source of the material does not constitute permission. You can post excerpts with attribution for discussion but not the whole piece. The best way to include such material in your post is to include a URL link in your post to the original piece. Note, that in creating any broadcasts, certain rules must be followed to insure that those broadcasts comply with applicable laws.

  • Please do not advertise or promote products or services in your posts. We do encourage you to use a signature with your URL to your broadcast to promote your station. (You're invited to use a banner graphic, however please make sure it's no larger than 468x60.) The genre-specific stations boards are there for you to promote your stations in addition to discussing music and artists of interest.

  • No Spamming! Spamming is posting repetitive and irrelevant messages to one or many message boards. Spamming is considered to be the height of poor manners and all such posts will be removed. We want to keep the boards clean and a friendly place to be. This also extends to the Live365 chat rooms.

  • For your own safety, never give personally identifiable information (credit card numbers, social security numbers, telephone numbers, names, addresses, passwords or driver's license numbers) to strangers online.

If we all take care to follow the few simple rules above, the Live365.com community will be a friendly, interesting and comfortable place to be for everyone.

Our Terms of Use govern all activity on Live365.com. Please read them.

Please feel free to contact the Director of Community at any time at community@live365.com.
