They Can't Back Up
By Peggy B.
Did you know that a kangaroo of Australia can't walk backwards. Neither can the Emu, a flightless bird of the Australian grassland. Because they can't back-up, Aussies find these creatures symbolic. That's why likenesses of the Kangaroo and Emu appear on Australia's coat-of-arms.

Really Movin' Out
If you think you can run fast, that's nothing compared to how fast a peregrine falcon can fly. This streamlined little hawk has been clocked by police using radar guns. It's A Dog's Life
It used to be generalized that one year of a dog's life equaled seven years of a human's life. A more updated system has been developed for calculating "dog comparison ages." A 6-month pup is equivalent to a 10-year old human. A year old dog equals a 15 year old human. A two year old dog equals a 24 year old human. After this, until age 13 each year for a dog is the equivalent of four human years. After age 13, a dog's human equivalency slows down to 2-1/2 years. Now you know how old your dog really is.
