Going "Batty"!
We've all heard about bats getting in your hair, however, bats aren't such a bad thing. These night-time flying mammals have membrane wings, and a form of echo-location so they can find and prey upon small insects. A bat is just about the best protection you can get against mosquitos. Using its echo-location "radar", a single bat can find and eat 500 mosquitos each hour. By contrast, a "bug zapper" is actually worse than useless, since it actually kills the insects that feed on mosquitoes. To rid your yard or outdoor area from mosquitos, it's better to build bat houses, than to place bug zappers.

Smelly Sneakers?
If you have sneakers, shoes, or boots that are getting a little on the smelly side, put a few teaspoons of baking soda into a couple cotton rags, and tie them closed. Put the rags into your shoes for a couple days, and soon they'll be fresh and clean. Baking soda is an effective deodorizor.

Longest landlocked stream?
Do you know the name of the longest stream in North America that doesn't empty into an ocean? It's the Bear River in northeastern Utah. It originates in the Uinta Mountains and meanders 500 miles through three states before emptying into Great Salt Lake, 90 miles from where it began.
