Starting in 1996, Alexa Internet has been donating their crawl data to the Internet Archive. Flowing in every day, these data are added to the Wayback Machine after an embargo period.
We are pround to announce that Engage Interactive have upgraded their website to use Mambo 4.5.
The upcoming releases of Mambo (including 4.5.1) rely heavily on
several Open Source XML libraries provided by Engage Interactive.
DOMIT! and SAXY, written by VP of Software Development John Heinstein,
are two of the tools being used in Mambo 4.5/4.6. These are XML
(Extensible Markup Language) parsers used to manipulate data over the
Internet.
"We've made these tools available free of charge through the Engage Web site,"
said Mr. Heinstein. "We use Open Source tools in our product
development, and this is our way to give something back to the Open
Source movement."
The third tool is DOMIT! RSS, which is used for processing syndicated news feeds delivered over the Internet.
A fourth tool developed by Mr. Heinstein, DOM XML - RPC (XML Remote
Procedure Call), will be incorporated in Mambo 5.0. It will be used as
a language and platform neutral means of communicating between
geographically dispersed computers.
Engage Interactive is an award-winning learning technology company in New Brunswick providing online learning systems for business, medicine, telecommunications and desktop applications.
After recent negotiations with Miro International Pty. we are pleased to inform the community that Mambo Open Source will be changing the name of the product to 'Mambo'. That's right, the REAL Mambo is called ... 'Mambo'.
While Miro's commercial version (and other Mambo flavours) are differentiated by extended names, we are now able to use the name Mambo by itself.
A great strength of the 'Mambo' brand is in it's name, and this move will ensure our product is not diluted in any way and will reduce the confusion for many when faced with Mambo, Mambo Open Source, MOS etc. The renaming will start to take place with immediate effect and will take a couple of weeks to rollout completely.
MOSForge will be the most significant change as this will be rebranded to be MamboForge. We will ensure that this process causes as little disruption as possible. We will be leaving a redirect from MOSForge to MamboForge in place for the next few months.
We, therefore, ask you the community to support us is this move and also make the necessary changes to your references, bookmarks, sites etc.
http://opensourcecms.com It makes us extremely proud to announce that OpensourceCMS.com have
decided to use Mambo Open Source 4.5 as their CMS of choice to power
their new site. Not only are we proud about that, but we are also
proud of the community for rallying together and helping make this all
possible. Many thanks to each and everyone of you.
Scott and Chahn have done an incredible job of bringing many of the
open source content management systems, portals, forums, blogs etc to
the masses for trial before you install.
Quote from OpensourceCMS.com - "OpensourceCMS.com was created with one goal in mind. To give you the
opportunity to "try out" some of the best php/mysql based free and open
source software systems in the world. You are welcome to be the
administrator of any site here, allowing you to decide which system
best suits your needs."

Today, June 10th, Simpleboard 1.0.2 stable has been released. There
were still a lot of problems with the 1.0.1 version which threw off
many sites' layout. Another security hole was discovered and fixed
right away; we hope this was the last one! Also, the upload
functionality for avatars has been fixed as well as some other minor
bugs that were discovered and integrated in this release.
In respect to the newly fixed security hole eveyrbody is urged to upgrade a.s.a.p.
