FEATURED COURSE

Course
Brown Deer Park Golf Club

This traditional course features sand bunkers coming into play on nearly every hole. In addition, water hazards come into play on ten holes. Most of the narrow fairways are tree lined, and the undulating greens are fast. This club has hosted the PGA Tour's Greater Milwaukee Open since 1994. more

Glossary
Casting:

An uncocking of the wrists prematurely on the downswing, resulting in a loss of power and control. Also known as "hitting from the top." (Smith had a tendency to swing at and not through the ball, which caused him to cast the club from the top of the swing).

Etiquette
Find out before you play

When you reach your ball, check the lie, select your club, visualize your shot, and then play your shot. This is not just effective play, but expected manner on the course. Discover just how sociable the sport of golf is. Read on for more suggestions on dos and don'ts on the course.

Rules of Golf
Out of Bounds

The Rules of Golf, jointly created by the USGA (United States Golf Association) and The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, don't allow players to carry more than 14 clubs in their bag, prohibit practice shots while playing any hole, and disallow spending more than 5 minutes searching for a ball before it's considered lost - costing a one stroke penalty. Brush up on your rules with our At-A-Glance overview.
