Newfoundland's WeatherThe northern part of Newfoundland has a subartic climate. In the south of the province you will find that the climate is continental, but influenced by maritime conditions. The Labrador sea current on the east coast gives the land summer temperatures that are several degrees cooler than that of northern regions in similar latitudes. In the spring the current brings ice and icebergs southwards, adding to the cooling effect on the region till late spring.
