Van Gogh Museum AmsterdamSponsoring

The Van Gogh Museum and the Rabobank: the museum with the greatest visitor attendance and the greatest financial services provider in the Netherlands are partners.

An inspiring combination. The most famous Dutch artist inspires visitors to the museum. And inspiration drives the Rabobank to expand the boundaries together with its clients.

Together with the Rabobank, the Van Gogh Museum wants to draw attention to its unique collection and organise special exhibitions.

The Rabobank will be collaborating with the Van Gogh Museum as a promoting partner for a period of five years. Both institutions consider sponsoring as a form of cooperation based on making the most of each others' strong points. Together they are striving to introduce an ever greater and varied public to art and culture.

In 2004 two major projects are made possible by the Rabobank promoting partnership:

  •  Since 27 February 2004, the Van Gogh Museum remains open every Friday night until 10 p.m. In addition to the permanent collection and the temporary exhibitions, visitors can also enjoy a special program. For an overview, please see www.vangoghmuseum.nl/vrijdagavond.

  • 1 September 2004 marks the launch of the Van Gogh Mobile, an American school bus that will bring children from all over the Netherlands to the Van Gogh Museum. A learning program developed especially for this project will enable Dutch school children to get acquainted with the life and work of Vincent van Gogh.
