About the Windows Catalog

The Windows Catalog is your place to find products built for the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.

The minimum requirement for products in the Windows Catalog is that they are compatible with Microsoft Windows XP. However, the Windows Catalog highlights products that are part of the Designed for Windows XP Logo Program.

If a product’s status is listed as "Compatible" in the Windows Catalog, the product may not meet all of the Designed for Windows XP Logo Program requirements but has been deemed compatible with Windows XP by Microsoft or by the manufacturer. If you do not see a product in the Windows Catalog, it does not mean the product will not work with Windows XP. In that event, you should check with the product’s manufacturer to determine whether the product works with Windows XP.

You’ll find the Windows Catalog helpful if, for example:

  1. You have Windows XP and are considering buying new software or a new hardware device but want to check its compatibility first.

  2. You are thinking about purchasing Windows XP and want to check whether your current the software and hardware is compatible with it.

For the best experience on Windows XP, look for products that carry the Designed for Windows XP logo
While compatible products work with Windows XP, products that are Designed for Windows XP are specifically created to take advantage of the great new features in Windows XP and reduce the number of problems you might otherwise have using your computer.

The Designed for Windows XP Logo Program was created to allow customers to easily identify products that will yield a quality Windows XP experience. Products that carry the Designed for Windows XP logo will improve your experience, reduce your frustration, and encourage good Windows XP product development fundamentals among software and hardware manufacturers.

Whether you’re shopping at a local retail store or browsing for products in the Windows Catalog, look for products that give you a great experience -- look for products that carry the Designed for Windows XP logo.
