Totara Downs takes its name from the New Zealand native totara trees on our 10 acres of rolling farmland. It is similar to the English Country Downs.
Here you will find us, tucked away on a quiet country road in the southwest corner of the Franklin District - just 50 minutes comfortable drive from Auckland's International Airport and offering you the ideal spot to unwind after your arrival in Auckland or a haven to gather your thoughts before your trip home.
Our home is set in large country house gardens and enjoys wonderful rural views of the distant Waikato River.

Our guest rooms offer either twin or Queen beds. Either room has the choice of ensuite bathroom or a private bathroom.
Enjoy our sitting room with the open fire and baby grand piano. In summer relax beside our pool or in our garden croquet lawn which offers some shady spots for those hot afternoons.

Our breakfast menu has some great choices, and there are some interesting and award winning cafes and restaurants within an easy drive where you may dine out.
