PADI ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). You'll not only gain additional experience as a PADI Professional but you'll also start learning the PADI System of diver education.

You're half-way to becoming an Indonesia scuba diving instructor!
To qualify for the PADI IDC, you must:
- Be certified as a PADI Divemaster, or as a divemaster with another recreational diver training organisation
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have been a certified diver for at least six months and logged at least 60 open water dives with experience in night, deep and navigation prior to starting the IDC
During the PADI IDC, you'll learn the PADI System of diver education, standards and procedures, effective academic teaching presentations, conducting open water surface skills and additional related topics. You'll learn these topics through the PADI IDC by:
- Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations
- Confined water skill review and assessment, workshops and presentations
- Open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations
As a PADI Assistant Instructor you'll be able to teach academic presentations and evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor, teach the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course and Project AWARE Specialty courses, conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences and teach Emergency First Response and Medic First Aid after successful completion of an appropriate instructor course.
