I think the color would be more fitting on the petals alone and not the center of the flower. Utilizing masks to select different sections of your image to alter would allow you to create altered images with greater impact.

great macro shot, debra. like the different materials and the form they have. the small black area is easy to avoid. mark it, and decrease contrast/hue ;-)

Beautiful colors, unusual crop, but very interesting, I have took some pictures of flowers and I always try to make it different, the black background doesn't bother me.

This is an EXCELLENT shot! Your focus is crisp and I love the way you moved away from the traditional way. If you crop do it decently! Your crop works specially well as it captures a part of the leaves of the flower as well as a nice part of the centre. I don't know how you did it, but the focus astonishes me! This one goes to my favourites.
