Big Game Fishing Charters in the Andaman Islands

Even though the Andaman Islands belong to India,
Thai Fishing Guide
couldn’t resist the temptation
of including this destination in our program.

Located 660 kilometers west of Phuket, these 329 islands
have no commercial fishing and have just started to open up
for sportfishing and scuba diving on a restricted basis.

Vast areas are still uncharted, but based on what is
now known, marine biologists have said that there
is no reason why this destination should not become
one of the world's absolute hot spots for sportfishing.

Shark in the Andaman Sea
Jumping Marlin in the Andaman Islands

The underwater canyons and mountains are home
and hunting grounds to a wide range of gamefish,
such as Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Broadbill Swordfish,
Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Dogtooth Tuna, Giant Trevally,
Wahoo, King Mackerel (Tanguigue), Great Barracuda,
Dorado and more than 20 species of Shark.

Due to lack of experience in this enormous area,
these trips should be considered as a fishing safari
for adventurous anglers, who wish to explore
pristine water that has never seen a lure before.

Because of the very impressive size and power
of many of the species found at this destination,
it is not advisable to use fly fishing equipment.

Several boats have returned to Phuket with a boat
full of empty 50 and 80 lbs reels!

All trips include:
Transport to and from your hotel or
Port Blair airport.
Fishing equipment (Standard is 80lb class).
All meals
(Western style).
Fresh fruit and snacks.
Soft drinks
and drinking water.
Accommodation
on the boat.

Giant Trevally

All boats to this destination are very high quality
sportfishing boats, equipped with fish finder, depth sounder,
GPS plotter, UHF radio, outriggers, downrigger,
fighting chair, live bait well, Penn fishing equipment,
toilet, shower, cooking facilities and all safety features.

The sportfishing boat will meet you in Port Blair
(Andaman Islands). You will have to fly to
Port Blair via Calcutta or Madras (India).

Immigration officials require that you have a tourist visa
for India and an additional stamp in your passport,
allowing you to enter the Andaman Islands.
You can apply for the visa and additional stamp
at your nearest Indian embassy or consulate.

Thai Fishing Guide requires a copy, by fax or e-mail,
of your visa and passport, one month prior to the charter.
