Identification:
A deep silvery body covered with large scales.
Dark dorsal and anal fin, and a deep forked dark tail.
Brown to dark red pelvic fins, and a relatively small head.
Typical location:
From bottom to midwater of large rivers and lakes.
Fishing methods:
Float or bottom fishing with dough, weed or maggots.
Fighting characteristics:
A strong fish with a lot of stamina.
Powerful pulls along the bottom and in midwater.
