Identification:
Large scales, big eyes and an upward angled mouth
with two forked barbels.
Dorsal and anal fins are well behind the pectoral fins
and extend almost to the tail.
Typical location:
Shallow and calm water in rivers and lagoons.
Fishing methods:
Lure casting with spinners and minnows.
Fishing with live or dead prawns, mullet or herring.
Fighting characteristics:
A beautiful jumper that later in the fight seeks shelter
around underwater snags, plants and other submerged structures.
