Identification:
Grey body with brown to green tint.
Spines on first half of the dorsal and anal fins.
Long sloped head with large eyes and a red edge around the mouth.
Temperature range:
15 - 30 Celsius (59 - 86 Fahrenheit).
Typical location:
Sandy coastal areas, lagoons and reef slopes.
Fishing methods:
Fishing near the bottom with crab, squid or dead fish.
Fighting characteristics:
A fast strike followed by a series of short, but also very fast dives
for shelter around submerged obstacles.
