Identification:
Upper body dark brown to black with light brown to gray edges on scales.
Lower body bronze with gray to white edges on scales.
Long black rounded dorsal and anal fins, extending almost to the tail.
Sloping head with small eyes.
Temperature range:
21 - 30 Celsius (70 - 86 Fahrenheit).
Typical location:
Around FADs, buoys and mooring lines.
Around shallow reefs and wrecks.
Fishing methods:
Drifting or at anchor with live scad or mackerel.
Fighting characteristics:
A master in tangling or snagging the line.
