Identification:
Upper body bronze and gray. Lower body white.
Sides of head elongated in wing shape.
Five short gill slits.
Smooth cockscomb-shaped teeth.

Hammerhead Shark Teeth

Temperature range:
18 - 30 Celsius (64 - 86 Fahrenheit).

Typical location:
Hunting on surface over and beyond continental shelf drop off.
In open ocean around schools of baitfish.

Fishing methods:
Trolling natural baits.
Trolling or drifting with live bait.
At anchor with dead or live bait and chum.

Fighting characteristics:
Tough opponent with several long surface and midwater runs.
