Burundi: Massacre at Gatumba Refugee Camp The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack... We extend our condolences to the families of the victims and to the Congolese government and people. The United States strongly supports the initiative of the UN Security Council to quickly investigate the massacre. We call on the authorities of Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo to cooperate in identifying the perpetrators and in bringing them to justice. [full text]

Awards for Community Service Each year, the Foreign Service Youth Foundation Award for Community Service is presented to young people who have been nominated from around the world for their community service projects. The award honors teenagers who have demonstrated outstanding volunteer efforts either in community service or in service to their peers while facing the challenges of growing up in an internationally mobile lifestyle.

Deadline for Biometric Passport Requirements extended by one year, when new passports issued must be biometrically enabled.
The State Department issued a report to its employees on the major accomplishments in the management area over the past three and a half years. Every Cabinet department and major agency is releasing a similar report, and the Office of Management and Budget is publishing a Government-wide report.
