No. But it will help. A seller always likes to see that the person making the offer can actually get the loan and they're not just wasting their time. Some times the seller may require a pre-approval letter with the offer. Back to top

· I've been told I can't afford it...what do I do?
Go see another loan officer. We were told we couldn't do it by 3 loan officers before we finially found someone who said they could do it. We were told that we would have to have a co-signer, that our credit wasn't good enough, that we ddn't make enough money. In the end, it was just a matter of finding the right loan officer.
