Technical Information
My Affiliate Program Software is a "web based" application, also called a "hosted" application. This simply means that the "work horse" of the software resides on our servers, in our datacenter.
This part of the software handles (a) tracking the delivery of marketing content, (b) handling the click through's from this marketing content (c) recognizing referring affiliate sales (upon notification of a new order), and (d) all reporting & administration for you and your affiliates. The software does not, by default, record customer contact information, itemized sales data, nor does it hold any of your visitor's data.
In order for your hosted application to track events occurring at your site, your site must communicate with the software. This is where "integration" comes in.
We offer several integration methods, complete with easy to follow step-by-step instructions. So, no matter how you take orders, and no matter what your ordering process entails, My Affiliate Program has a solution.
The following is a list of integration Methods you can use with My Affiliate Program™. Determine which method will work best with your web site. Shopping Cart Integration
In order for our system to post a "pending" commission to an affiliate's account, your shopping cart needs to communicate with our server to send it information about the order. This can be done by adding one line of code to the receipt page of your cart -- this is the most popular integration option.
My Affiliate Program™ software works with virtually every shopping cart, order processing center, order form and ordering system. It doesn't matter where your website is hosted, or how you take orders. You simply integrate your site, with the options discussed below.

The "You Track" Option
If your shopping cart software doesn't allow you to edit the receipt page of your shopping cart, you have an alternative. The "You Track" option will allow you to write cookies at your own domain, so your own scripts can identify affiliate-referred customers, and report it to your My Affiliate Program Software.

Simple Order Form or 3rd Party Processor Integration
If you are currently using a simple order form or third-party processor to process your on-line orders, you can make a couple of simple changes to your current form and let our form processor handle the work for you. Our scripts will process the form contents, detect the Affiliate ID (if any), and even post a pending commission for the Affiliate. Then, it will email you the contents of the order and redirect your customer to the "Thank you" URL of your choice.

Tracking Orders Placed Offline
If you wish to track orders that come over the phone or are faxed in, you have some options. For fax orders, you can display the Affiliate ID on the page that is faxed to you. For phone orders, you can display the Affiliate ID as part of the phone number, via a "promotional code", "extension number", "offer number", "department number", etc. Our sales representatives can offer a number of different ideas for tracking orders from offline sources.

Special Linking Integration: "Your Link"
All Affiliate links in the My Affiliate Program system point to your software at "myaffiliateprogram.com/yourdirectory/yoursoftware". However, if you would like the visible Affiliate links that your customers click on to point to your domain for branding purposes, this can be done by uploading a simple script to your server. This script "redirects" the visitors to your software for processing, and the software redirects the visitor back to the appropriate page on your site.

Transaction Uploads
If you have a large number of sales and refunds that pass through your system every day, you may choose to upload your transactions as funds are "batched" in or out of your account at the end of the day. There are several options with this integration method that will allow you to control how sales are reported to your Affiliates.

Catalog Tracking
Do you have a catalog (large list) of items that your Affiliates are promoting and that your customers can purchase on one order form/in one cart? Would you like a way break down your Affiliate reports by item instead of simply by sale total? If your shopping cart allows for some additional tracking, then the Catalog Tracking integration method will configure your software to properly report on each item in each sale.

Note: With all integration methods listed above, KowaBunga! Technologies assumes that you will be checking your Affiliate-referred orders manually to ensure that they are valid and that the Affiliate is deserving of a commission. If your sales volume is relatively high, making it impossible for you to check each order's validity - please contact our technicians for more integration options.
