Applicants: To be considered for employment, applicants must submit an employment application and participate in our clerical testing process. Testing is conducted every Monday, Tuesday and on Wednesday at 8:00 am, 9:30 am and 1 pm -- no appointment is necessary. The Human Resources Department is located on the 9th floor of the Governmental Center building, 301 N Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach (1 block east of the Courthouse). Part-time positions in lieu of full-time may be available upon management recommendation.

Current Employees: Please submit a completed Request for Transfer Application (with Manager's signed approval) to Human Resources by the internal closing date as stated on the posting. Administrative Assistant - $30,576 - $37,752 doq                                    Internal Closing Date: 08/20/04
Support Chief Deputy of Strategic Planning & Accounting B assist with departmental operations and activities; coordinate meetings, interviews & appointments; prepare agendas; type correspondence, reports, and other documents; handle telephone inquiries and provide information & assistance to internal and external customers with emphasis in quality service; and assist with projects, research/locate/compile information. Must have ability to communicate correctly, professionally, & effectively in oral and written English in a heavy customer service environment; type a minimum of 40 correct words per minute; be detail oriented, accurate & organized; and exercise independent judgment. Minimum requirements: Associates degree and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in advanced administrative support functions (i.e. preparing meeting agendas/packets, attending & recording meetings), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have exceptional computer skills with experience in the following software: Access, Visio Pro, Microsoft, Power Point, MS Publisher, WordPerfect & Quattro Pro.
