A Letter To All The Fans & Friends
From Danny Green.

Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has helped me get to where I am at this moment. I am a fighter inside the ropes , but there are so many people who love, follow and support me that inspire me to succeed.

To all of my fans, thank you for your loyalty. I look forward to repaying your faith by bringing all of the Super Middle Weight belts back to Australia.

Things have definitely come a long way since I started training in the carport of Patrick Develerez’s Koondoola residence. Pat who represented his native country of Burma, was a trainer from the “Old School” who insisted on discipline, dedication, punching power and training like a Trojan, which suited me fine. I will always credit Pat for giving me my foundations in boxing, and our memories will last forever.

As an amateur I won numerous State, National and Oceanic Titles.I will forever be proud of representing my great country, with the Commonwealth and Olympic Games being the obvious highlights. Under the guidance of Bodo Andreas, the National Coach I was lucky
enough to travel the world flying the Green and Gold colours. I traveled to the other side of the country and world and took on some of the world most experienced amateur fighters, knocking some out in the process. This put me in good stead for when I turned professional.

As a young kid, watching Jeff Fenech fight his first world title had an obvious impact. I always wanted to be a boxer, and when the opportunity to train with Jeff arose, it was like a dream come true. Having a three time World Champion in your corner is a great honor, and I am constantly striving to achieve success in the ring, because Jeff is a strong source of motivation and inspiration. When I go back to my corner in between rounds, I am very confident of the advice I am about to receive. I have learnt so much from being with Jeff, and I am the fighter I am today because I listen to what he has to say. We have a similar sense of humor, and there is never a dull moment when Jeff is around.

We have had great success so far, and our partnership was solidified with our stunning defeat of Eric Lucas in Montréal. The victory in Canada was thrilling to say the least, but nothing will ever compare to the pride, excitement and jubilation of watching my daughter Chloe being born. Sitting in the room with Nina and our little angel, hours after her birth, all I could do was stare at her and smile. She is the absolute love of my life, and there is no better feeling than a warm hug from my princess. My family have supported me in whatever I have done. We are a close unit and I am blessed have their love. My wife Nina has a heart of gold, as loyal a person as could be, I fell in love the moment I laid eyes on her, and she is always by my side.

My best mate, my father Mal, has not missed one of my fights, amateur or pro. I gave him my World Title Belt as he has taken every punch that I have. I really look up to my Dad, and now, after 60 fights, I have a nose just like his. My Mum is a gem. She’s a real sweety, and I lover her to bits. Its only now having Chloe that I realize mums are a special breed. My two sisters Narelle and Sharni, have always looked out for me, and I miss them when I’m away. Being the younger brother, they always spoilt me. I am also super close with my brother Brendan, who’s in my corner for all of my fights. He cracks me up, and I feel great when we are together. We’ve had our fair share of friendly punch on's, and one of these days we will sort out who’s the boss!

I am forever indebted to all of my sponsors, who have supported me so loyally and the people who have made it possible for me to train full time, and pursue wholeheartedly my dream of becoming Champion of the World. I am not only sponsored by these people, I am good friends with them.

If you have seen any of the Western Warfare fights in Perth, you will realise just how good a promotional team I have behind me in the “Green Machine Promotions”. Every person who attended these Perth fights at Challenge Stadium were treated to a spectacular event and thanks to these guys. Justin Manolikos, Mick Pember, Pauline Wilson, Wayne Loxley and Rob Brady form the group, and they take great pride in their work. These guys are a fantastic bunch of people, and an even better asset.

The future is looking very exciting. Talks with overseas promoters in the US are underway, and Jeff and I are looking to consolidate on the hard work we have accomplished. Nothing comes without hard work and sacrifice.
