The nearest re-compression chamber is in Denpasar in Bali, 2½ hours flight south west from Wakatobi. There is a local hospital on the neighbouring island for common injuries.
Wakatobi Dive Resort has oxygen on site, and there is an established evacuation procedure with an air rescue company. This is covered by Wakatobi's own insurance policy. Treatment in Bali is not covered so divers should have their own insurance policy. One divemaster is provided for every six divers.
The resort features on-site security and a wide range alert network. Wakatobi is one of the most remote outposts in the world and is not known for loitering hoodlums on the island.
