Teacher Housing Final Report
In FY 2004, Congress directed the Denali Commission to address a teacher housing shortage in rural Alaska. The Commission sponsored a statewide survey of 51 Alaska school districts and rural education attendance areas or REAAs in order to identify levels of teacher housing needs in rural Alaska. Denali Commission currently partners with the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) on an existing teacher housing program. Questions regarding future projects or new funding solicitations should be directed to AHFC.

Solid Waste Program: Request for Proposals
The Denali Commission received FY 2004 funding to address deficiencies in solid waste disposal sites which threaten to contaminate rural drinking water supplies. Communities and their technical partners can apply for funds in three categories. Proposal deadline is September 15, 2004.
