Ca'Bauta in Venice, Italy
3 Star(s),   7 Rooms
Castello, Calle Muazzo 6457, 30122, Venice, Italy

Our hotel is first category, a three star, and it is on the second floor-piano nobile- of an ancient, quiet Venetian palazzo (1400) restored in 2001/2002, with all modern comforts and facilities.

The hotel is very close to S. Marco, Rialto Bridge (five/ten minutes walking) and to the other most famous parts of Venice, but, on the other hand, it is placed on very picturesque and off-the-beaten-track Venetian setting. In this location the guest can see the real Venetian lifestyle.
The rooms have views on typical venetian internat courtyards.

All our guests have always appreciated the quiet, privacy and silence of the accommodation.
Our rooms are elegant, large and comfortable, finely furnished, tastefully decorated, sound-proof, with wood-beamed, very high ceilings, which will make you feel the ancient atmosphere of nobleness and luxury of the former nobles of Venice. Ca’ Bauta unites refinement and grace with friendliness and typical Italian welcoming.

Ca’ Bauta was elected on Conde Nast Traveler, May 2002, within the hot List hotels, between the 52 best new hotels in the world:
”This city has made a fine art of excluding from its private life the millions of visitors who arrive each year. Which is why the seven-room Ca' Bauta—occupying the second floor of the fifteenth-century former Muazzo family palace—is such a welcome addition to La Serenissima's hotel scene. First of all, it's in Castello, a residential neighborhood that's far from the madding crowds but still convenient to San Marco. More important, it's run by good-humored Venetians who are happy to share their city with you, from revealing their favorite wine bar to arranging a private visit to the best glass factory on Murano. All rooms radiate off a rather grand lounge that was once the main reception area—the Murano chandeliers overhead are the very definition of opulence. Rooms are air-conditioned, unusually spacious, and done up in Versace-esque prints. A caveat or two: The bathrooms are small—aside from the suite with a baldachin over a Jacuzzi (honeymoon, anyone?)—and there's no restaurant or room service (breakfast is served in a corner of the lounge). However, the hotel will make sure you get a table at Mascaron, the fantastic local trattoria, and might even be able to sneak you into Da Fiore, the best restaurant in town (doubles, $190-$330). WHEN TO GO: May, September, and October are ideal. WHICH ROOM TO BOOK: No. 203, for its terrace and Jacuzzi.” (Condé Nast Traveler, May 2002).
