Come to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Oct. 9 for the fourth annual National Book Festival, sponsored by the Library of Congress and hosted by first lady Laura Bush.

· New Poet Laureate
Ted Kooser has been appointed as the 13th Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress.

· Lewis Carroll Scrapbook Online
A new Library online collection features the original scrapbook kept by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known as Lewis Carroll, author of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass.

· From the Home Front & the Front Lines
A new online exhibition consists of original materials and oral histories drawn from the Veterans History Project collections.


·  From Haven to Home: 350 Years of Jewish Life in America

A new exhibition marking 350 years of Jewish life in America will open on Sept. 9 in the Northwest Gallery of the Library’s Thomas Jefferson Building. Read about the exhibition and about a new publication on the "From Haven to Home" exhibition.
