Public Meeting on September 24 |
MCC will hold a public outreach meeting on Friday, September 24, 2004, 11am at the General Services Administration, 18th and F Street, NW, Washington DC. Those wishing to attend should e-mail events@mcc.gov with: Name, Telephone Number, Affiliation/Company Name, Social Security Number, and Date of Birth.
On August 31, the MCC published its proposed criteria and methodology for selection of countries eligible for MCA Assistance in FY 2005 and initiated the required 30-day public comment period. MCC staff will review the Criteria and Methodology and entertain questions from the audience. The meeting will also be web cast at www.mcc.gov.

What Is the Millennium Challenge Corporation? |
Two years ago in Monterrey, Mexico, President Bush called for a "new compact for global development", which links greater contributions from developed nations to greater responsibility from developing nations. The President proposed a concrete mechanism to implement this compact -- the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) - in which development assistance would be provided to those countries that rule justly, invest in their people, and encourage economic freedom.
