What is Spam?
Spam is the electronic equivalent of junk mail. The term is often referred to as Unsolicited Bulk Mail (UBM), Excessive Multi-Posting (EMP), Unsolicited Commercial email (UCE), Spam mail, bulk email or just junk mail. Back to Top

What is Talaya Anti-Spam?
Talaya Anti-Spam is a new feature of Talaya Internet Service, which essentially blocks most emails that may be potentially considered as Spam from reaching your email inbox. Instead, it stores your Spam-related email at the Talaya server in your Talaya Web Mail Junk folder. Back to Top

Will I lose any legitimate emails?
It is unlikely that you will lose any legitimate emails (commonly referred to as "false positives"). The percentage of false positives is around 0.0001% or 1 in 10000. In order to ensure false positives are not automatically deleted from your Junk file, IT&E highly recommends that you periodically check your Junk folder and retrieve legitimate emails. Back to Top

How do I view my Junk Mail Folder?
Simply enter your Talaya username and password on the Talaya Webmail logon page at http://www.talaya.com/webmail/. Once inside, simply click on the link labeled “Junk” located on the left menu bar. Back to Top

Is this service secure? Does anyone read my email messages?
Yes, this is a secure service. Since your username and password will be require to access Talaya Webmail, only you will have access to view Spam stored in your Junk folder. Back to Top

Do I need to do anything on my computer to enable this feature?
Once you subscribe to obtain the Anti-Spam feature, you do not need to do anything on your computer to enable this service. IT&E takes care of enabling features on the Talaya network, so you can concentrate on productivity instead of tackling Spam. This is a network-based solution and affects absolutely no change to your current email services. Back to Top

How often are Anti-Spam rules updated?
Anti-Spam rules are continuously updated automatically by Talaya Internet Service to stop new Spam variations. The updates are generated from the characteristics of previously flagged email messages and the determination of the next type of Spam message format that will arrive based on previous results. How much does this service cost?
For a limited time, Talaya Anti-Spam will be FREE to all Talaya Email subscribers. After the June 30, 2004, the cost for Talaya Anti-Spam service will be $1.95 per month per email address, and as low as $1.25 if bundled with wireless PCS service. Back to Top
